About Me

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

― Maya Angelou,  I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

Most people feel a degree of apprehension at undergoing counselling.  Such feelings are understandable because the work which happens in therapy can occur at a level where we feel vulnerable and uncomfortable.

It stands to reason that whomever you choose to help you with that work, will play an important role in the process and so it is important for you to take the time you need to find the right counsellor for you.

I believe that we each possess many of the resources needed to resolve our inner conflicts.  That said, getting lost along the way and losing access to our inner resources is an unavoidable part of life for most of us.

Sadia is my name and I am a professional Integrative Therapist.

As a registered member of the BACP, I adhere to their code of ethics with an emphasis on confidentiality, integrity, and respect for the clients.

I have 15 years experience of working within the NHS in various roles. I have been a counsellor for 2 years.

My Approach

My goal in therapy is to create a compassionate relationship based on trust and safety which enables you to feel heard and understood.

For practical purposes, I use various psychological models (e.g. Gestalt, Person-centred, Internal Family Systems and Mindfulness) because they allow me to adapt and fit to a way of working which best suits your needs.  I adopt a non-judgemental and holistic approach and work closely with my clients to help them find the best solutions for themselves as individuals.

Were we to work together, my intention would be to help you understand yourself better through self-reflection, to attune you to your mind and body.

The process can help clarify the matters troubling you and allow you to identify values and boundaries which are important to you.  In turn, these will help enrich your relationship with yourself as well as with others and will help you stabilise in responding to inevitable vicissitudes.
